rules for KY meets 7/1/07
Kentucky Qualifier System (KQ)
Level 3-6 compulsory gymnasts must
qualify to state meet in an official KQ meet. A KQ is
a USAG sanctioned competition that has been designated by the
USAG-KY state committee as a meet at which a gymnast must earn a
qualifying score in order to advance to the KY State
Championships.
KQ Requirements
KQ’s must
be open invitations to all KY USAG clubs. They may also open to
out of state USAG competitors.
KQ Judging Requirements
Level 4,5,6 must have two judge
panels for each event
Level 2,3, Prep-Op may have one judge
panels
KQ’s
must follow the same sanctioning procedures as listed for sectional
meets in the National R&P. KQ’s must follow the age group and
award requirements as described in this KY rules and Policies book.
KQ per competition Tax
Meet directors must send the Meet
results to the state Chairman. $2.00 per gymnast and the
appropriate copy of the sanction report form must also be sent to
the state chairman within 7 days of Meet date. $1.00 per gymnast
must also be sent to Region 5 Chair Bobbi Montanari 2281
Scioto-Darby Executive Ct. Hilliard, OH. 43026 Not getting State
reports to State chair or Regional office constitutes an offense.
The meet director and Gym will lose the privilege of hosting future
competitions. USAG RULE!

KQ
Maximum Competition Fees
Level 4 thru 6, Prep-Op $50.00
Level 2, 3 $35.00
Invitational meets using rented
facilities and rented equipment are exempt from the above fee
requirements. However, they are strongly encouraged to follow the
fee requirements for Level 2 and 3. Entry fees are not
refundable with less than 10 days notice prior to meet

Award
requirements: Level 2,3,4
Ribbon achievement awards for events
level 2, 3, 4. Level 5 will no longer receive achievement
ribbons. All-around medals, gold/silver/bronze by percentage, with
special recognition to the top 3 winners in each age group with
medals or trophies
Individual Events:
Number of places: for age groups with
19 or fewer participants, placement medals or trophies must be given
to the top 1/3 of each age group. For age groups with 20 or more
must be split into even groups by age. (50% each in jr. / sr.) any
group with 50 or more must be split into 3 groups(33% child /jr. /
sr.)

the awards to be given at the meet.

Rules & policies:
Level 2
Level 2 gymnasts are to receive
achievement ribbons ONLY for each event and a participation medal
for All-around. The emphasis is on low-cost participation, not on
competition.

Required Achievement Ribbon Ranges and colors:
9.0 or higher Blue
8.0 to 8.975 Red
7.0 to 7.975 White
6.975 or below Any color

KQ Age
Groups: Age as of the last day of the State meet competition.
Level 2: 4,5,6,7,8,9+ must have
reached their 4th. Birthday to compete.
Level 3: 6,7,8,9,10,11,12+ must have
reached their 5th. Birthday to compete.
Level 4: 6,7,8,9,10,11,12+ must have
reached their 6th birthday to compete.
Level 5/6/7: 7,8,9,10,11,12,13+ must
have reached their 7th birthday to compete
Sessions may be divided by teams or
by age groups. Follow guidelines in USAG R&P.
State Meet Qualifying:
Level 3 only need to compete in one
KQ meet.
Level 4, 5, 6 gymnasts must achieve
the required score at a KQ meet.
Level P.O. gymnasts must achieve a
score at a KQ meet.
Level 7-10 gymnasts must achieve the
required score at any USAG sanctioned competitions in any state.
State Meet Qualifying scores:
Level 3 No score necessary
Level 4,5,6 30.00
Level 7,8 31.00
Level 9,10 32.00
State meet entry fees:
Level 3 & 4 $55.00
Level 5 & 6 $60.00
Level 7—10 $75.00
Prep-Op $60.00

Meet entry DEADLINE:
March 7, 2008 Deadline for Level
3/4/5/6/ Prep-Op, 7 thru 10.
Entry and Money must be in Meet
directors hands by above date!
No exceptions!
Entries which are received after the
entry deadline will be assessed a $100 fee per club plus $10.00 for
each athlete on the team! This policy will be strictly enforced!
If you fax/mail only an entry without a check, even if it is before
deadline, your entry will be considered late and you will owe the
late fee as described above. The check must be received before the
deadline to not be late!

Declaration Dates:
According to the USAG R & P, the
state committee must set a declaration date after which a gymnast
may not drop back to a lower level for state meet.
February 1, 2008 for all levels
compulsory and optional.
