KY USAG Board
minutes Oct 4, 2008 Lexington, KY
In attendance: Cap Caudill, Carole
Liedtke, Michael Crowe, Angela Haagan, Monica Kennedy, Lee Warner,
Vicki Smith. Not Present Andy Neafie, Angie Tyler, Pat Brainer, Tina
Salameh.
--Minutes of July 13, 2008 meeting were
read. Updates included: Michael Crowe finished the Criteria for
selection of judges for Ky and it was accepted. Carole Liedtke produced
the Ky Hall of Fame criteria and nomination form and it was accepted.
It was mentioned that not all clubs had turned in their roster of
gymnasts with intended level (due by the first KQ). It was added that
the Coaches to be awarded for the 07-08 season will be Summer Crawford
from Top Flight for compulsory coach and Scott Austin from Champion for
Optional coach- awards to be presented at a later time. However the
minutes were accepted as read.
--Cap reiterated that the current USAG
membership card must be visible at meets. If it is pending the
information sent from USAG must be visible. The dress code was
discussed with consensus that the meet director should enforce the rule.
--The Calendar in the R and P booklet
needs to have the Judges Critique moved to March 1, and the Champion
Derby Classic to March 14-16.
-- All are concerned that there are no
bids for any of the State meets.
--Carole Liedtke attended the Regional
Prep-Opt Committee meeting at Mini Congress and will send out
clarifications from that meeting.
--It was noted that most committee
members turned in their decision on their order of choice of judges for
Nationals, Regionals and State to be compiled and turned into the
Regional committee and to Michael for assigning state meets.
--It was clarified that gymnasts can
compete in Individual events, and we were reminded that they can also
qualify to State and Regionals.
--The following corrections were made
to the Ky R and P:
KQ Judging Requirements: Level 4,5,6, Prep-Opt must have two
judge panels
Level 1,2,3
may have one judge panel
KQ Award requirements All levels 2-Optional and Prep-Opt
Delete See Prep Opt rules for their awards.
KQ Age Groups Age as of the last day as of the upcoming State
meet
State Meet Qualifying scores:
Add= Athletes must obtain the qualifying minimum score at a given level
in order to compete at either state meet. If an athlete is competing
the same level for the entire season, they need only qualify at one KQ
for either state meet. If an athlete moves up to a new level following
the winter state meet, they must again qualify at a KQ in order to meet
the qualifying score at the new level to attend the Spring State Meet.
Add State Meet Judge Requirements: All State Meets must use a
minimum of two judges per event for all levels.
State meet age groups: There will be small and large team awards
given at State meet for levels 3-7 only.
Every
gymnast at the State competitions will receive an all around award.
Sanction violation to be updated as per USAG R and P.
Prep-opt clarification when Tap swing is mentioned it means tap to
swing forward, counter back swing.
--Level 8 Regional will be at Peoria,
Ill. April 24-25
--Level 9/10 Regional will be at
DeVeaus in Indianpolis April 17-19
