Criteria
for Kentucky USAG State Meet Judges Selection
1. Judges Professional Involvement Form (Regional Form) is due to SACC
Cap Caudill and SJD Michael Crowe postmarked by September 1.
2. A form stating each judges name, current rating, and other
information from the PIF and Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
form (including, but not limited to meets judged the previous year,
clinics attended, volunteer judging/coaching hours and volunteer
positions filled at regional camps) is compiled. These forms are
forwarded to all members of the state USAG board. Eligible judges must
be current with their CPE form, USAG membership, NAWGJ membership, and
safety certification. Volunteer opportunities at Kentucky events (State
Clinics and Judges Cup for example) will also be considered.
3. Each individual on the state USAG board ranks each eligible judge
from first to last with consideration to this judges involvement form.
These rankings are then returned to the SACC and compiled using a point
system by the judges ranking committee.
4. Once compiled the final overall ranking list is returned to all
members of the state USAG Committee and the SJD. These rankings directly
influence the list of judges and alternates provided to the regional
committee for recommendations for selections for the regional
championships.
5. Within a reasonable amount of time before each state meet, the SJD
compiles a list of recommendations for judging assignments to each state
championship meet taking into consideration the following
-
Placement by the state board
from the PIF form information
-
Availability to judge the
state meet in question
-
The judges being recommended
having met the requirement of having judged at least one Kentucky State
Meet qualifying meet (KQ) on the event being recommended for assignment
-
Affiliation (Every attempt
will be made to ensure non affiliated judges assigned to state meet
judging positions)
6. The list of assignment
recommendations is forwarded to each USAG board member for approval.
7. Once the list for each state meet is approved and final, the selected
panels are informed and contracted for the state meet in question.
