Kentucky USAG
Board Meeting 9/26/2010
Present: Caudill, Smith, Dickey, Liedtke, Austin, Blewitt, Layne
Absent: Brainer, Crowe
Minutes read from last meeting and approved.
Request from KGA by Lee Warner
to host a KQ. KGA has outstanding tax
money due and will only be allowed after the past due taxes are paid and
proper forms turned in.
The Prep Opt clarification
that ages, number of judges and competition fees were
Read. The State may choose with acceptance from the Regional Board. We
opted to keep the National age groupings, one judge panels to be allowed
at KQ’s, and to raise the original suggested state meet fees. See the R
and P for updates.
The Board was sent the names
and info that judges sent in their Professional Involvement Forms. They
each sent their order of choice and Cap compiled the votes forming one
list that will be sent to the Regional Board for Regional assignments and
to Michael Crowe for State Assignments. A few of the judges on the form do
not have their current CPE turned in and will be put on the bottom of the
list until it is turned in.
A lot of time was spent in
thorough discussion and update to the Ky. R and P.
Brian Blewitt spent time before the meeting updating and compiling our
past update and will finalize the current one based on the board’s
decisions. Cap will be sending the Ky R and P with updated address lists
and forms to all as three hole punched paper to be put in a folder upon
receipt.
There are still no bids for
the State Meet. It was reminded that they need to be out of gym. Vicki
Smith will put in a bid for 5-10 if no one else wants to host the meet.
There was discussion and a
motion made by Blewitt to have the Ky Judges Cup pay the full amount of
State Tax (in the past they did not pay, and last year paid half). It was
seconded by Austin and the vote was 5-1 in favor.
There was discussion about
trying to not lose money on the banquet. It is agreed that the banquet is
very worthy and the committee will have someone look into cost saving and
money raising for next year. (Less expensive site, different caterers,
Sponsors, vendors, selling left over leotards and tee shirts are possible)
The web site costs $25 a month
and there was concern that it is not updated or that a better one could be
developed. Some will look into other possibilities.
Mileage for the committee was
requested to meetings. They can receive mileage minus 30 miles at .50 a
mile. Cap must request it through USAG to his account.
Regional leotards were
discussed, with a stock GK chosen to have Kentucky across the front.
Orders will be requested on the State entry form. Those who qualify will
receive one free, and others can purchase at retail with profit helping to
pay for the earned ones. Also any extra will be sold at the banquet, or
made available to anyone. Other items may be provided as well.
State tee shirts have been
ordered ahead and the profit given to the meet host. It may be requested
to have some of that profit go to the state fund. It was suggested that
they be general Kentucky gymnastics with no date so that extra could be
sold to other individuals and at the banquet. (Even the parents of those
who go to Regionals might want to wear them in support of their gymnasts
and to show Kentucky support)
