Minutes from 3/16/08 meeting were read and accepted.

The 3/16/08 and 6/16/07 minutes will be put on the Ky.

Cap has still not received the Regional Mini congress
rebate from 2007.
·
The final vote to allow the Judges Cup to only have to pay
half of the State Tax passed.
·
There were no bids for the Summer Clinic and Award
banquet. Michael Crowe and Cap Caudill are still working to have this
in the fall.
·
Michael Crowe will be asked to select a committee of three
to formulate a more explicit criteria for judging Ky State meets and the
process for choosing judges. This should be finalized to the board by
Sept. 1.
·
A committee for formulating the Ky. Hall of Fame criteria
and nomination form was appointed. Angela Haagan and Carole Liedtke
will develop the information and forms to be published on the website
after the board approval.

The range of scores for Achievement ribbons will remain
the same as last year.
·
It was requested to get information about the possibility
of the state purchasing The Pro Score system for use at all Ky meets.
However, at a current cost of $7800 it was considered too costly at this
time.
·
The vote to have two state meets, a Level 3-6 Compulsory
in the winter and a compulsory, optional and prep opt in the Spring
passed.
·
A motion to have a separate Level 3 and 4 state meet in
the spring was made by Tina, seconded by Angela and passed.
·
Therefore, there will be a Level 3-6 Compulsory state meet
in December, a Level 5-10 and Prep Opt meet in March and Level 3 and 4
meet in April. Gymnasts may compete in more that one state meet.

The calendar was extensively reviewed and will be
published by Cap.
·
It was discussed to review the Region 5 Prep Opt rules
after they are finalized and then make the decision to use them with or
without some variation for Kentucky.
·
Cap reiterated the fact that the USAG Background check is
in effect and must be completed upon renewing USAG Professional
membership. This should be done with time before the membership
expires.
·
All clubs need to turn in their roster of gymnasts with
intended level by the first KQ of the season. More info on who to send
this to will be sent out.
·
All Ky clinics and meets are requested to be sanctioned by
USAG. (Judges can only receive clinic credit for clinics that are
sanctioned and have been properly given clinic status thru paperwork by
the State Judging Director and State USAG Chair) All coaches and judges
must display in plain site their Professional membership card (or a
designated verification that it has been checked, such as a wrist
band). The meet directors must enforce this. If USAG has delayed their
card they must download info proving they have paid for this year. Card
also can be downloaded. Meet directors must check online to see if
coaches have Pro Membership. Check in sheets must be checked. Every
Pro member must have checked in and have card visible.

Dress code- Motion was made by Lee and seconded by Angela
to accept the USAG Coaches attire at State and above competitions to all
KQ meets, with the exception that hats and non torn jeans can be worn.
Passed. Shoes=closed toe athletic shoes. Pants: athletic warm-ups or
“Docker-style” pants. Shorts=Athletic or tailored shorts that are a
reasonable length (example-7” inseam) No shorts with tears, holes or
short- shorts. Shirts=Collared shirts, business casual shirts, or
T-shirts with gym logo. No spaghetti straps, low-cut tops or midriff
revealing shirts.

At State and above meets the USAG Coaches attire rules
will have to be implemented which is the above plus no jeans, and no
hats or visors.
·
Corrections were made to the 07-08 Ky. Rules and Policies
and additions and deletions made which will first have to be verified
with the current USAG policies before publishing for 08-09
·

by Monica to raise the State qualifying score for Levels 4-5-6 to 31.
Motion by Lee, second by
Tina to add a State qualifying score for Level 3 to 31.
Motion by Carole, second
by Vicki to add that all panels at all state meets have 2 judge panels.
Clarification that age
groups for awards can be combined due to low numbers of gymnasts by the
meet director with verification beforehand from the USAG Chair.

A compulsory and Optional coach of the Year for Ky were
chosen to be disclosed at the Annual
banquet in the fall.
·
All clubs need to keep their address, email, person in
charge, phone update with Cap
·
All need to review the USAG Program, Compulsory and
Optional Updates for 2008-2009 from June 2008.
·
An announcement was made that Cap Caudill has been named
to the first Region 5 USAG Hall of Fame for his many and pioneer years
of service to gymnastics in the Region.
