Rules and Policies

National There will be a National Rules and policies this year 1998-99 and in your hands soon. National felt that there was too much information change to go with the original plan of the R&P good for 1997-98 & 1989-99

State: The state 1998-99 R&P will be out soon. We will be sending 1 copy per Club this time. Those individuals that wish their own copy may purchase their own copy. More on how to do this in the next newsletter.

National: If you do no receive your National R&P when it seems everybody else is please call the National Office at 1-800-345-4719 and see what has happened. Some times errors occur and they need your call to correct. i.e. if mail is returned to the National office for any reason they put a block on your file so that no further mail goes out and even the state chairman do no receive labels for you.

State same procedure applies with 1 addition. Call Teresa Millmore (our Newsletter editor) or e-mail her at Tmillmore@AOL.com & she will be able to send you a copy of the last newsletter.

Illinois State Series Summery Form: Please find enclosed the Illinois State Meet series Summery Form. This will contain all the information on State Series Meets this year.

Illinois Club information Enclosed in the next newsletter will be the Latest listing of clubs with registered Gymnasts from the National office. I am sorry that some clubs are not listed but we have listed only clubs with registered Gymnasts.

Choreographers interested: The state office receives all kinds of requests. One of them is, Do I know anybody that is interested in Choreographing floor routines? Some of us men just have a hard time doing that for our athletes. If anybody is interested in Choreographing please send/FAX or e-mail me the following information. NorbertIL@AOL.com
Name, Phone, Highest level of routines Choreographed, Years experience, Price per floor or whatever price structure you use.

Address Changes If you are moving or for any reason have changes in address please make the National office aware in writing. The state office receives Labels and electronic information from the National office. We will rely on the information given to us from the National Office. It is imperative that you inform the National office rather than the State Chairman.

How do I become a Meet Director Please find in your current National Rules and Policies in the back an answer sheet. This maybe copied. The questioned are also found in the R&P. Please answer the questions and find the most appropriate answer. Then follow the procedure below

Take test.

Send Test with all information asked for to

Norbert Bendixen
200 S. Shaddle Ave.
Mundelein IL 60060

With a check for $10 to ILWPC (Add $25 rush fee if you need it done immediately)

Couple of things to consider

1) When the new National R&P come out you must use that Exam (I can not except old exam)

2) I will grade exam (give me 10 days unless you have paid for a rush) and I will send results to National Office.

a) I will notify you via the mail whether or not you have passed but you are not considered a meet Director until the National office has sent you a Certificate.

State Board meeting closed This next Board meeting will be closed for a portion of it because we will be discussing Judge assignments to State, Regional, and National meets. We welcome your attendance at other meetings. Thanks!

Trophies: Last year the State Board voted to make a Consensus Statement that

"This year we would not have

Team Competition at any

STATE SERIES MEETS".

We then asked for Input from you guys. We received 2 letters from coaches and approximately 4 letters from athletes disagreeing with our statement. We must take from this that the majority of YOU agree with our consensus and that this year we will try the season without Team Trophies.
