KY USAG Administrative Committee Minutes - 6/11/09

Absent: Tina Salameh, Vicki Smith, Andy Neafie, Pat Brainer, Michael Crowe, Angie Tyler, Monica Kennedy, Lee Warner

Welcome and thanks to above committee as this is their last meeting. New board announced: Cap Caudill, Vicki Smith, Pat Brainer, Michael Crowe, Angela Dickey, Carole Liedtke, Scott Austin, Brian Blewitt, Jennifer Layne.

Minutes of 3/28/09 read and corrected: Level 5-Optional State meet will be 3/19-21/10 (as per USAG request) and level 3-4 State meet to be 3/27-28/10. Regional Prep Optional meeting will be held at Ann Arbor, Mich June 10 with Carole Liedtke to attend.

The minutes will now be posted on the Ky website. (which Cap is having trouble getting to have the webmaster keep updated).

Updated calendar presented and accepted with Angels and Legacy meet to both be on the Nov 14-15 weekend. Judges Critique Meet March with date to be announced. 3-4 State meet to be March 27-28 and 5-10 State to be March 19-21. SEC NCAA March 29th. Level 9/10 Regional April 8-11. NCAA Regionals April 10, NCAA Nationals April 24.

Cap reviewed items from the Region 5 meeting with possibilities on a Level 7 Regional and changes, how judges are assigned to Regionals and Nationals, possible lowering of qualifying score for level 8 to add more at Regionals, needs to be more judges taking an active role at the training camps-not just sitting on side line and watching (Application to sign up for
Regional camps is available), there are some problems with gymnasts skipping levels and needs to be caught (they can have scores invalidated and must move back), notes from RJD Hilary Carlson, membership card to be in sight at
all times. Dress code being clarified and changed a little. Be on the lookout for the Regional minutes and updates on the Region V website.

Carole discussed changes in Prep opt which will be coming out at the end of June or 1st of July. A lot of the bonus and some special requirements were changed. It was added to the Ky Rules and Policies that the Prep opt ages will be the same as 5/6/7 for Ky Age Groups.

The Ky Rules and Policies was reviewed to be sure the updates from the last board meeting were included.

Coaches of the year were announced: Optional (Louise Harpole) and Compulsory (Bailey Adams) which will be announced at the banquet (Secret right now!!). Dot Steinlage and Vicki Smith will be named to the Ky USAG Hall of Fame at the banquet.

USAG Region V Congress in Chicago Sept. 17-20 with lots of new information, banquet and auction. The Regional Board would like to try to get more profit from the net profit.

There are a lot of rules changes for levels 7-10 with a new Code of Points now available.

There are NO bids for State meets, clinic or banquet. Cap has decided to research a place in Louisville for a banquet with hopes the board will help.
